ATUG 6.24
Uni Maynooth 0.16
Great result on the road last night in University of Maynooth for our well managed fresher hurlers under the guidance of Adrian Furey, Mikey Ryan, Kevin Lally ..
Brian Callanan was on fire up front with Conor Gilligan with both lads proving very elusive and difficult to mark . Padraig Conole was also out in front and used his silken skills to lethal effect. Johah Donnellan and Ben Porter both seriously athletic big and strong cut off supply routes and set up attack after attack . Jack Murray at no.4 is our corner back find of the year so reliable , tactful, and efficient with his defensive and attack transitioning duties. Dylan Melia was terrific with his distribution in the goals also and shot stopping when needed . Colm Burke,s accuracy from placed balls is another boost to the team.
Next up Feb 4th in Mellows at 6.30pm is DCU in a top of the group clash .

Fitzgibbon Relegation
ATU Fitzgibbon Team were up against a tough test against TUS Midwest. From the first whistle, ATU showed plenty of heart and never backed down from the challenge.
The lads worked hard all over the field, battling for every ball and standing up well physically throughout the game. Even when things got difficult, the effort and commitment never dropped.
While the game ended in a loss for ATU, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance, especially the team spirit and togetherness on show. The final score saw ATU finish on 2:08, with TUS Midwest on 0:17.

Excellent performances from Eoin Cooley in all x3 games at this top level of hurling. Evan Kennedy is another hurler of note emerging. Joint captains Dylan Dunne / Robbie Meehan were so loyal in this campaign never failing to turn out and on pitch leaders as well. Darragh Donohue has the ability to play at the top level blessed with skill and pace. James Downey was the find of the year so reliable in defense and so accomplished as a hurler. Paddy Cummins of Gort is another exceptional hurler and can go places if he decides, amazing wrists and vision. Conor Dolphin another who commit's to sessions and a serious forward when injury free.
Thanking all for their commitment in the harshest of nights .

Fresher Football Championship – Round 3
ATU vs TUS Midlands (TUSML)
ATU progressed to the quarter-finals of the Fresher Football Championship following an impressive and disciplined performance against TUSML in Round 3 of the competition. In a game played with high intensity and plenty at stake, the ATU lads showed great composure and character to come out on top and keep their championship campaign firmly on track.
From the opening minutes, the match was played at a lively pace, with both teams eager to assert themselves. TUSML looked to press high early on, attempting to disrupt ATU’s build-up play and force mistakes. However, ATU settled quickly, moving the ball confidently across the back line and into midfield, gradually gaining control and establishing their rhythm.
As the first half progressed, ATU began to grow in confidence and create meaningful opportunities. Their attacking movement caused consistent problems for the TUSML defence, with dangerous deliveries into the box and well-timed runs stretching the opposition. The breakthrough came after a sustained spell of pressure, with ATU capitalising on their dominance through a well-worked attacking move and a composed finish.
The remainder of the first half saw ATU continue to push forward, while TUSML looked to respond on the counterattack. ATU’s defensive unit remained well-organised, dealing calmly with any threat and ensuring they went into the break with a deserved advantage.
The second half saw TUSML come out with renewed determination, increasing the tempo and committing more bodies forward in search of a way back into the contest. ATU were forced to defend for periods, but showed maturity beyond their years, working tirelessly off the ball and maintaining their defensive shape.
ATU extended their advantage during the second half following another excellent passage of team play. Quick, intelligent passing opened up space, and the move was finished decisively, giving ATU greater control of the game and rewarding their persistence.
Despite the setback, TUSML continued to battle and put ATU under pressure late on. A tense closing spell required strong leadership and concentration from the ATU side, with crucial tackles, interceptions, and clearances ensuring their lead was protected until the final whistle.
When the referee brought the match to a close, ATU were worthy winners and rightly celebrated their progression into the quarter-finals of the Fresher Football Championship. The performance highlighted the squad’s teamwork, discipline, and commitment, with contributions across the pitch playing a key role in the victory.
This result represents a significant step forward for the ATU fresher squad and builds valuable momentum as they prepare for the quarter-final stage. With confidence growing and performances improving, the ATU lads will look ahead with belief, knowing they have earned their place among the final teams remaining in the competition.

Fitzgibbon Cup – Round 2 Match Report - Laoise O Shea (Head of PR).
Round 2 of the Fitzgibbon Cup saw ATU Galway take on MICL in a hard-fought and entertaining encounter. Unfortunately, it wasn’t our lads’ day, but despite the result there was no shortage of effort, commitment, or pride shown throughout the performance.
ATU Galway made an explosive start to the game and were ruthless in front of goal, building a sizeable advantage in the opening half. MICL battled well and worked some excellent scoring opportunities, registering a series of fine points to stay in touch. However, at the half-time whistle ATU Galway held the upper hand, leading 4-06 to 0-11.
MICL responded positively after the break, showing real resilience and character. The lads upped the tempo, fought hard for every possession, and applied consistent pressure across the field. This effort was rewarded with a well-taken goal and a strong return of points as MICL continued to push ATU Galway all the way to the final whistle. ATU Galway added further scores of their own in a competitive second half, and at full time the scoreline read ATU Galway 5-09 to MICL 1-24.
While the result means MICL progress and ATU Galway’s Fitzgibbon Cup campaign comes to an end, the performance and spirit shown by the lads throughout the competition deserves great credit. They left everything on the pitch and represented ATU Galway with pride. A sincere word of thanks goes to Brian Hanley and all his coaches and selectors for their dedication and commitment in guiding the team through the championship.
In an outstanding team performance aligned to team play and support play this display has to be recognised as to a man they emptied the tank and could be argued we deserved something from this workmanlike commitment to the game of hurling.
Next up a relegation game to maintain our Fitzgibbon Cup status .
A Proud honorable performance .

Sigerson Cup – Match Report
ATU Galway’s Sigerson Cup campaign came to an end following a narrow and hard-fought defeat to DCU in what was an intense, high-quality contest from start to finish. While the final score did not fall in our favour, the performance delivered by the lads was one full of courage, commitment, and togetherness, leaving everyone involved with plenty to be proud of.
From the opening whistle, both sides set a fierce pace, with ATU Galway showing great intent and confidence on the ball. The lads worked tirelessly through the lines, creating scoring chances and taking them well, while also matching DCU physically around the field. Defensively, ATU Galway stood firm under pressure, and at the other end of the pitch the forwards were sharp and composed in front of the posts. DCU responded with scores of their own, and after an entertaining and evenly balanced first half, the sides went in level at the break, 1-08 a piece, a fair reflection of the battle that had unfolded. The second half was equally competitive, with neither team able to pull away. ATU Galway continued to show great resilience and work rate, fighting for every possession and refusing to give DCU any easy chances. Scores were exchanged throughout the half, and the lads kept pushing right to the final whistle, showing real character and belief in their ability to turn the game in their favour. Despite their best efforts, DCU managed to edge ahead in the closing stages, and at full time the scoreboard read DCU 1-16 to ATU Galway 1-14.
While this result brings ATU Galway’s Sigerson Cup campaign to a close, it does little to reflect the dedication, effort, and pride shown by this group of players throughout the competition. The lads consistently represented their college with passion and determination, leaving everything on the pitch in every outing. The commitment shown both on and off the field has been a credit to everyone involved.
A sincere word of thanks must go to Jack Hynes and all his coaches and selectors for the tireless work, guidance, and support they provided to the panel throughout the campaign. Their dedication and belief in the group played a huge role in the performances produced. Although the Sigerson journey has come to an end, this team can hold their heads high, knowing they gave their all and represented ATU Galway with great pride.
"Our lads are not just footballer's but good lads they love playing and representing the college and they are gutted about tonight" stated JACK HYNES manager ..
Lost by 2 in the end .
1-16 to 1-14.
Shane McGinley was super 5 points from play
David Prendagast 0-5
Conor Reid 1-1
Fionn McDonnacha 0-1
Mark Mannion 0-1
Ryan Roche 0-1
Vinny gill and Mark Mannion deserve to be called into a Galway squad on recent Sigerson displays and David Prendergast too .
They are outstanding young footballers .

Fresher Hurling Championship – Round 1
ATU Galway vs UCD
ATU Galway began their Fresher Hurling Championship campaign in dramatic fashion, producing a superb comeback performance to defeat UCD by two points in an entertaining and hard-fought Round 1 encounter.
The opening half belonged largely to UCD, who settled quickly and played with confidence in possession. Their sharp movement and clinical finishing caused problems for the ATU Galway defence, and two well-worked goals, combined with a series of accurate points, allowed them to open up a seven-point lead. ATU Galway battled throughout the half and showed flashes of quality, registering a goal and several important points, but they found themselves trailing at the break on a scoreline of ATU Galway 1-05, UCD 2-09.
Despite the deficit, there were encouraging signs for ATU Galway. Colm Burke led by example, working tirelessly around the field and providing a focal point in attack. Ben Porter remained composed under pressure and continued to threaten the UCD defence with intelligent movement and well-taken scores. Micheál Bolan was also highly impressive, showing great energy, skill, and determination, and his performance stood out as the game progressed.
The second half saw a complete transformation in the contest. ATU Galway emerged with far greater intensity and began to dominate the middle third, winning primary possession and moving the ball with pace and precision. As the pressure mounted, the scores began to flow, with ATU Galway steadily chipping away at the UCD lead. Burke’s leadership and drive were crucial during this period, Porter contributed vital points at key moments, and Bolan continued to excel with an outstanding all-round display.
ATU Galway’s relentless second-half effort ultimately proved decisive, as they overturned the seven-point deficit and edged ahead in the closing stages. When the final whistle sounded, it confirmed a memorable comeback victory, with ATU Galway finishing on 1-17 to UCD’s 2-12.
It was a hugely positive start to the championship for ATU Galway, with their resilience, teamwork, and second-half dominance laying down an early marker for the remainder of the competition.

Freshers Football Championship – Round 2
ATU Galway vs NUIG
Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be for ATU Galway in Round 2 of the Freshers Football Championship, as they suffered a narrow one-point defeat to NUIG in a highly competitive and entertaining contest.
The game began at a lively pace, with both sides eager to gain an early advantage. ATU Galway worked hard throughout the opening half but found scores difficult to come by, while NUIG were more efficient in front of goal. A NUIG goal during the first half proved crucial, and despite strong defensive work from ATU Galway, they trailed at the interval on a score line of 1-05 to 0-04.
ATU Galway responded impressively after the break, showing great intensity and determination. Their increased pressure paid off when they struck a vital goal, swinging momentum firmly in their favour. Backed up by a run of well-taken points, ATU Galway clawed their way back into contention and pushed NUIG to the limit.
As the match entered its closing stages, the intensity rose, with both teams trading scores in a tense and physical battle. ATU Galway pressed hard in search of a late score to turn the game around, but NUIG managed to edge ahead in the dying moments. The final whistle confirmed a heartbreaking finish, with NUIG claiming victory by the smallest of margins, 1-10 to 1-09.
While the result was disappointing, it was clear that ATU Galway left everything on the pitch. The lads played their best, showing heart, resilience, and strong teamwork throughout, and can take plenty of positives from the performance.
Attention now turns to their next challenge as ATU Galway travel to Athlone next week to face TUSML. With the level of performance shown in this match, the squad will be confident of bouncing back and putting in another strong display on the road.

A loss on the road in Waterford to a very well drilled SETUW squad . Injuries and un-availability of some squad members in the run in didn't enhance Brian Hanley charges prospects. A poor night for hurling with driving rain and wind our lads were a credit with effort and commitment throughout . Poor goals conceded plus two missed penalties was the story of the match. A Rory Burke goal gave us a lifeline but all too late as time ran out and scuppered an ATUG comeback which was looking likely.

ATU Galway 1.20
St Mary's Belfast 0.12
A MAGICIAL performance from our Sigerson squad in Dublin last night securing RD2 VICTORY for the fist time in a decade . Controlled composed football, aligned to teamplay and scoring prowess was the story of the night . A very well drilled team led by Jack Hynes manager, Shannon McIlhenney, Martin Reddington with time well spent on the Bus journey up with coaches holding individual meetings with players to discuss tactics and player positional roles . The joy in everyone was evident at the final whistle, a relief that we performed to our max and won the day breaking a run of defeats that habituely stacked up over the years .
Conor Reid was emmence at mid field kicking three two pointers and a one pointer whilst also available in defense, as was Paul Kelly a real leader linking play and contributing to attack with a two pointer to boast. David Prendergast an amazing attack minded player scored the goal to lift the gloom and build confidence as well as contributing points from his trusty left/right pegs. Darragh Hegarty at 6 is a tower consistantly agressive in the tackle supported by Niall Prenderville at 3 the Donegal senior never fails to turn up. Vinny Gill again to the fore with his attacking minded surges from defense is a real treat to watch. Our kick outs from Eamon McGrath were a sight, how he effortlessly brushes through the football with his right peg so accurately across many distances and angles and was also so safe under the high ball .
Daire O Callaghan, Fionn McDonnacha, James Lavelle, Darragh McCabe, all put the shoulder to the wheel in what can only be described as a breakthrough victory with current 4th years sampling a success in Sigerson for the first time ever on their academic journey .
A great night for the College

UCD 3 3.12
ATU Galway 0.10
A terrific performance full of heart guile and commitment from our lads last night on the road in UCD Belfield . The story of the game was two costly mistakes with UCD capitalised on to maximum effect one in either half. Our management team ran the line brilliantly hampered with a number of scholarship students un-available due to recent knocks picked up on the inter county circuit which left a total of six players not up for selection. We now move on to RD2 on Wednesday January 14th who we play St. Mary's Belfast at a neutral Dublin venue .. Vinny Gill at the back was excellent all night as was Ryan Roche in mid field with David Prendergast on fire from play scoring at will and proving a thorn in the UCD defense . Paul Kelly used the ball effectively as did Fionn McDonnacha but special mention on the night goes to Daire Callaghan and Padraig Goodwin who left exams in ATUG travelled up the road and committed to playing for the college, arriving on time for the warm up. Niall Prenderville the highly thought of Donegal man also proved to be a leader on the field and was ably assisted by Conor Reid of Mayo ..

Our Junior hurlers lost on the road to UU in the Div. 3 League Final. A sterling performance from our defense from Owen Long in goals, Cian Brennan at 3, Donal Farrelly at 6, Captain and hard working Alex Kelly at 5, Jamie Bergin at 4, Christopher Burns at 2, with Shane Kelly at 7 all played there part. The tenacity in the tackle the teamplay the support play the link up stick work out of defense was a joy to see. Up front our forwards had an in different evening with wasted mis executed shots at the target many of which never reached the intended outcome. Our mid field were over run too and on another night all could have been very different based on the excellent semi final WIN over UCD. Cian Duggan tried very hard and was our most productive forward.
Sean Gilmore our sports science student who delivered all the best practice and professionalism to this squad also played at 14 to his credit. A first - PLAYER / S+C at Junior level.
This group are still in a great place to launch a championship raid at Junior hurling and great respect and thanks goes to the management led by Bosco Gallagher , Owen Keane, Gary Horan and all our panel which contributed to a massively successful campaign in this there first ever League campaign in ATUG as a squad.

The draws for the 2026 Electric Ireland Higher Education GAA Championships took place in Croke Park today.
Reigning Sigerson Cup champions, DCU, have been given a tricky opener away to 2024 champions, Ulster University.
When the two teams met in this year’s semi-final the Dubliners prevailed narrowly after extra-time.
“That’s as tough as it gets,” said DCU and Dublin footballer, Greg McEnaney after the draw. “We were lucky enough last year in the semi-final to get away from them in extra-time. That’s definitely as tough as it gets, in Jordanstown as well."
Last year’s beaten finalists, UCD, will have a home tie against ATU Galway while recently crowned Electric Ireland Higher Education Division One League champions, UL, are away to MTU Cork.
Reigning Fitzgibbon Cup champions, University of Limerick, who are gunning for a fourth title in five years will get an early test of their mettle in the group phase.
They’re in Group A along with DCU who they beat in this year’s final, and Maynooth University.
“They’re two strong teams,” said UL’s Killian Doyle after the draw. “We had DCU in the final last year and they’re a very strong team. I think that’s away as well so going up to DCU will be a tough place to go.
“If you top the group you get a home quarter-final which is key, so hopefully we can top the group.”
Group B is made up of local rivals UCC and MTU Cork along with Garda College, University of Galway, UCD, and TUS Midwest are in Group C, and 2024 champions Mary Immaculate College, SETU Waterford, and ATU Galway are in Group D.

A Hearth breaking defeat by the bare minimum for our Ladies on the road in SETU Carlow in last nights league final.
Congrats to the winners SETU C on a score line of 3.07 to 2.09 . This team will bounce back I've no doubt as the talent in the ranks plus the hard working squad and management team will want to right this defeat and will be motivated to do so in the championship. Not a bad thing one might say in hindsight as this group all through last year and up until last night were un defeated and lessons can now be learnt and a reset and growth from this bump in the road. Teamplay and commradarie and a togetherness are now necessary and all will reflect and see if their individual contributions from Sept are of a total teamplay contribution .
A small set back Ladies which I've no doubt will be corrected for the championship .

A massive WIN for our Fresher Hurlers in the League on the road in UL last night lead by mid field general and captain Michael Burke from the Skehana-Mountbellew club in Galway. A tight game from the off with our lads slightly in front all night but pushed to the limit from the off . Teamplay was the order of the day with skilled link up hurling. Jonah Donnellan at 6 was central in this team play effort with the majority of players trying to do the right thing all through. Michael Burke lead the defense and attacks as an essential link player supported by Joe Clancy the Tubber man who caused difficulty in the UL defense with his surging runs . Jake Keady at 11 picked off some nice early scores from loose play showing a class in his striking . The hard working Brian Horan was another thorn scoring points and substitute Darragh Flynn the Sligo man scored the vital goal to put distance between the sides. Colm Burke was industrious throughout and his free taking immaculate under pressure . Jack Murray excelled at corner back a position alien to him but a real tenacious player .Oscar O Gorman the Kilconieron man was at it from the off and never relented a fine game had from our no 7.
This squad now await championship fixtures and will step up to Fresher 1 from January .

Historic Junior hurling WIN in our league S/F against a very well schooled UCD team winning on a margin of 3.14 to 3.11 . Starting with Owen Long in goals these lads to a man worked tirelessly to secure VICTORY . Mathew Burke played the sweeper role perfectly, Shane Kelly at 7 was sublime, as was Donal Farrelly our Donegal senior at 6. Captain Fantastic Alex Kelly from Lisdoon in Clare was a real leader in defense coming out with ball after ball again supported by Donal Farrelly on this front . Aaron McDonagh a fine hurler at 8 scored vital points and landed a goal from mid field also and this man sure does empty the tank along side Pat Regan who works so hard also and this mid field partnership certainly looks formidable . Ethan O Brien is a ball of energy up front from play and frees supported by Cian Duggan a brilliant player at this level having played Fitzgibbon last year . Tom Nolan, Shane Felle, Mathew Lyons, all did the business up front and this group now await the FINAL in the first year of asking .

Our defense stood tall with Therese Marie Murray and Emily Dillon to the fore and again our reliable full back Maria Mahony always resisting any goal threat . Nessa Daly one of our dual players again showed up and was relentless in ball winning ability and supply to her fellow forwards . ATU Freshers vs. Maynooth University – Semi-Final Match Report
Result (After Extra Time): ATU 1-12 | Maynooth 0-14
ATU Freshers booked their place in the final after an extraordinary extra-time battle with Maynooth University, edging a single-point victory in a pulsating quarter-final that showcased grit, resilience, and standout individual performances. The contest had everything—momentum swings, high-pressure scoring, last-ditch defending, and a dramatic finish worthy of knockout football.
From the first whistle, it was clear that both sides had come prepared for a physical, high-intensity encounter. Maynooth settled slightly quicker, clipping over early points and forcing ATU to dig deep defensively. But it was ATU’s organisation at the back, led superbly by Tadhg Murphy (No. 2), that prevented Maynooth from turning spells of possession into goals. Murphy’s composure on the ball, aggressive tackling, and ability to break up attacks kept ATU in the contest during a heavily pressurised first half.
In centre back, Cian Rafferty (No. 6) quickly emerged as the heartbeat of the team. His aerial presence, relentless work rate, and intelligent distribution helped ATU establish a foothold as the game progressed. Rafferty’s influence grew with every minute—winning turnovers, linking defence to attack, and driving the team forward in key moments. His leadership in the middle third was vital in settling ATU after Maynooth’s early pressure.
Despite strong phases of play from both sides, neither team could fully pull away. ATU relied heavily on their defensive structure and discipline, while Maynooth threatened constantly with sharp movement and accurate point-taking. The scoreboard remained finely balanced, and by the time the final whistle blew on normal time, the sides were inseparable, sending the match into a tense period of extra time.
Extra time brought out the very best in ATU. Their fitness, organisation, and mentality shone through when it mattered most. The pivotal moment arrived when ATU broke through for the only goal of the game—a decisive, brilliantly worked move that gave them the narrow edge they desperately needed. With both teams continuing to trade points, that goal ultimately separated the sides.
But the victory would not have been possible without the heroics of Sean Gilmartin, who delivered a goalkeeper’s performance of the highest quality. Throughout the match—and especially in extra time—Gilmartin produced crucial saves, commanded his square with confidence, and repeatedly relieved pressure with his accurate kick-outs. In the dying stages, when Maynooth surged forward in search of an equaliser, Gilmartin stood tall, making a superb late intervention that preserved ATU’s slender advantage. The final score—ATU 1-12, Maynooth 0-14—reflected the razor-thin margins in a thrilling contest. ATU’s ability to deliver under pressure, combined with standout displays from Rafferty, Murphy, and Gilmartin, proved the difference on a day when every possession, tackle, and score mattered.
As the final whistle echoed across the pitch, ATU’s players and supporters celebrated a hard-earned and deeply impressive Semi-final win. With momentum building and belief growing, the Freshers now march into the final full of confidence—and fully aware that performances like this can carry them even further.
A night of character. A night of courage. A night ATU won’t soon forget.

Fresher Footballers Victorious in Sligo! ??
Our Fresher footballers made the trip down to Sligo this week to take on ATU Sligo in what proved to be a thrilling contest. Despite the long journey, the lads hit the ground running and produced a strong all-round team performance to come away with a well-deserved win.
The opening half was tightly contested, with both sides trading scores throughout. Some sharp attacking play and accurate shooting saw ATU Galway edge ahead at the interval on a score line of 1-09 to 0-08.
After the break, the Galway boys really found their rhythm. A second goal midway through the half gave them some breathing space, and from there they controlled the game well, keeping the scoreboard ticking over with a series of fine points. The defense stood firm in the closing stages to ensure the victory was never in doubt.

ATU Sligo 1.21
ATU Galway 2.15
Our Sigerson lads faced a tough challenge in Round 3 of the competition as they made the long journey to Sligo to take on a strong ATU Sligo side. Despite great effort and determination throughout, it wasn’t to be our day, with the final score reading 1-21 to 2-15 in favour of the hosts.
The ladsd the game brightly but found themselves chasing the contest after ATU Sligo built up an early lead. At half-time, the scoreboard read 1-11 to 1-5, leaving plenty of work to do in the second half. Credit to our team, they never dropped their heads and came out fighting after the break. A second-half goal gave us renewed energy, and there were some excellent passages of play as we pushed hard to close the gap.
However, ATU Sligo proved clinical in front of goal and managed to keep their advantage right through to the final whistle.
While the result didn’t go our way, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance — great effort, commitment, and teamwork all over the pitch. The lads showed real character, especially in the second half, and they can hold their heads high after a battling display away from home.
Hard luck to the players and management team, and safe travels home after a tough evening’s football. Attention now turns to regrouping and preparing for the next challenge.
Well done to all involved — the hard work continues. ???

ATU Galway 8.18 / ATU Sligo 0,13
Shona Harris our Kerry goalkeeper held another clean sheet on the way to a massive victory in a beautiful sporting setting of our Connacht COE in Bekan. She was assisted at the back by Maria Mahony , Ciara Burke, Emily Dillon at 6 and Therese Marie Murray on the wing who's tackling and hooking ability came to the fore. At midfield Aoibhe Joyce again was flawless with the stick and her surging runs penetrate the defence every time creating overlaps and making play for the brilliant Ava Lynskey who only has attack in mind on the ball and her hard work pays off in dividends with goals galore . Great seeing Shannon Corcoran and Katie Kilcreest back in the ATU colours again tonight as injuries had hampered there outfield game time last season. Our free taking from Katie was exemplary striking the sliotar distances and angles over the black spot .

Match Report: Senior ATU GAA team vs TUS Athlone.
Tonight marked Round 2 of the senior football competition for Atlantic Technological University (ATU), who welcomed TUS Midlands (TUS ML) to Liam Mellows. Both teams entered the match looking to build on their performances and display their talent. Considering the wet and cold conditions, both teams did exactly that. ATU claimed victory after a competitive match.
Half-Time: ATU 2-03 | TUS ML 1-03
The game settled into a steady rhythm as both teams looked to find their footing. The midfield pairing led by Dara Walsh took control of the ball and continuously supplied the ball to the forward line. Which led to the first goal from ATU. Momentum shifted several times throughout the match, but Adam Tierney remained constant with his possession and accuracy of his plays. Which led to ATU leading in the first half. At the other end of the pitch, Padraig Godwin and the other players at the back line kept their defense, breaking up several attacks. It was a disciplined showing that underlined the team’s progress. This half ended in ATU coming out on top with 2-03 to 1-03.
ATU returned ready for anything in the second half. Padraig Godwin’s ability to distribute from the back helped the team transition smoothly into attack from the second the whistle blew. The players worked together and showed good cohesion and tactical awareness. The result reflects the effort and determination shown throughout the match. Which brought us to full time, where ATU takes victory.
