ATU Galway 5.12 / UOG 1.04

CONGRATULATIONS Ladies to you all and your management team on qualification for O Connor weekend in Queens University Belfast March 13/14th .. A tentative opening with a resistant UOG team and heavy under foot conditions made the opening 20 mins a nervous affair. But up stepped Millie Sheridan (Mayo) from the 11 berth and from then on she proved a thorn in the UCG defense with meaningful runs at the hearth and goals and points followed from this lady tallying 2.02 on the night with a player of the match performance. The other goals came from the boots of Fiona Feeney (Sligo), Aishling Costello (Clare), Alannah Devereux (Mayo). Aoife Cooney (Longford) was solid and secure in goals with her handling and kickouts so assured. Kamile at 7 (Meath) was top class with her defensive duties as was Kelly at 6 (Kerry) and the surging stylish runs up field from Ciara Niland (Mayo) are a joy to watch. Leeza (Donegal) and captain Keeva (Mayo) are a link duo and formidable established midfielders contributing to teamplay continuously.

An exciting team to watch all year and with the league title secured the Donaghy Cup is now on the radar .

Onwards and Upwards Ladies ..
