WIN - FRESHER HURLING LEAGUE FINAL

ATUGALWAY 1.17 / University Limerick 1.14

A massive WIN for our Fresher Hurlers in the League on the road in UL last night lead by mid field general and captain Michael Burke from the Skehana-Mountbellew club in Galway. A tight game from the off with our lads slightly in front all night but pushed to the limit from the off . Teamplay was the order of the day with skilled link up hurling. Jonah Donnellan at 6 was central in this team play effort with the majority of players trying to do the right thing all through.  Michael Burke lead the defense and attacks as an essential link player supported by Joe Clancy the Tubber man who caused difficulty in the UL defense with his surging runs . Jake Keady at 11 picked off some nice early scores from loose play showing a class in his striking . The hard working Brian Horan was another thorn scoring points and substitute Darragh Flynn the Sligo man scored the vital goal to put distance between the sides. Colm Burke was industrious throughout and his free taking immaculate under pressure . Jack Murray excelled at corner back a position alien to him but a real tenacious player .Oscar O Gorman the Kilconieron man was at it from the off and never relented a fine game had from our no 7.

This squad now await championship fixtures and will step up to Fresher 1 from January .
