A heart breaking one point defeat at the hands of ATU Sligo in Sligo puts our premier football team out of this years Sigerson competition. A very quick four day turn around following Friday nights game  Rd1 in UL, having lost both games they now exit. Manager Jack Hynes, Coach Shannon McIIney, and Selectors Ronan Riddel (Student), Andrew Thompson S/C student are a credit and their disappointment very evident . For such a prestigious competition a four day turn around and out of the competition has to be questioned. Players on u20 and senior inter county panels  are focused on inter county challenges / training sessions and advised by inter county managements on training loads, and challenge / trial match's at inter county take precedence in very many third level students order of importance. Something which will need addressing by Higher Education executive.

We thank all panel members for their commitment to ATU Sport since last September . Wishing all well in their academic life, and we will see you all soon again men on the fields of play be it club or at a higher level and we will be supporting you all from a distance.
