On a freezing Thursday evening in Thurles, the snow melted as the action heated up, in the Ladies Football League semi-final. MIC Thurles and ATU Galway battled for a place in the final, with ATU Galway coming out on top to secure their spot.

The opening play saw an excellent team move, expertly finished by Fiona, which would indicate the tempo the match would be played. The game was played at a fast pace, where ATU used training strategies effectively to execute their game plan. The half time score of 0-5 to 0-2, left spectators wondering who would come out as eventual winners. Captain for the day, Keeva, led the team back onto the field for the second half, showing determination and drive.

Leadership shone across the pitch, with over six scorers contributing in the game, which is a testament to the team's exceptional teamwork. The highlight of the match came when Saoirse Delaney executed a brilliant dummy and weaved effortlessly through defenders before eventually slotting the ball over the bar with her left foot. Kelli McGrath and Eimear McMahon were also highly impressive for the ATU side. The final score stood at an impressive 3-13 to 1-5 in ATU’s favour. We extend our best wishes to the girls as they prepare for the final in the upcoming week.
