Fresher Hurlers League Win News: results

An Industrious performance from our fresher hurlers see them qualify for the business end of the League in a calm night in Ballyloughane . Match referee Shane Hynes was excellent and controlled proceedings effortlessly. ATU Galway without their injured star forward Conor Dolphin worked tirelessly throughout to achieve the result .

Ten players contributed to the scoring which in itself reflects the commitment. Donagh Fahy the Ardrahan man was in flying form yet again at 11 scoring 12  first half points with only 2 of those from placed balls. Padraig Gavin again proving his worth with work rate scored a fine goal to finish off his evening. Evan O Connell scored 4 points from play a serious return from a wing half forward. The busy team player at corner forward Cillian Finnerty scored 3 and set up others also. Pierce McGurk lead the line at 6 expertly and contributed 2 fine long range efforts to cap a fine display at center back. Donegal's Donal Farrelly again proved his ability and work rate from start to finish capping off his evening with 2 points from the wing back position. Fergus Deeley the Sarsfields man controlled midfield in partnership with Jim Veale from Beagh and scored placed balls and contributed from play expertly between them . Substitute Cian Brennan from Ardrahan was a player of note in defense and also got up field to score a fine point as did his fellow defender Aaron McDonagh also contributing to the score line. Cian Fordham struck a fine free to finish off a great evenings hurling from this exciting young team. 

Final score from a calm Ballyloughane was -

ATU Galway 1.30  to   TUS MW 0.15 ..
