AGM HISTORY MAKING
A First in University GAA - Our ONE CLUB MODEL AGM took place last evening in lecture hall 995 with over 20 students participating and willing to lead in club development. Students from 2nd/3rd/4th tears attending with Chairpersons, Secretaries, PRO's, Media Officers all elected. Our Fresher Hurling / Football squads went out of respective leagues at quarter final stage tonight at the hands of UCC in a double header .. The Hurlers opened well but lost there way after half time finishing well beaten by a way stronger and slicker UCC side on a score line of 4.21 to 1.10 . About GAA ONE CLUB


It’s with great excitement and pleasure that the ATU GAA Club (One Club Model) welcomes all new students to Atlantic Technological University Galway and more specifically, the ATU GAA Club. ATU GAA is one of the largest and most successful Clubs in the University with 10 teams participating in Hurling, Football, Camogie and Ladies Football. ATU GAA Club is coming off the back of a successful participation season across all four codes.


WHO CAN JOIN?


We support all levels of participation with a common aim of developing and improving performance, MAXIMISING participation and OPTIMISING playing standards across all codes. We pride ourselves on having some of the best coaching and managements in place to better aid our teams to perform to their best and maximise their FULL POTENTIAL. We aim to have all codes have teams competing at Fresher, Intermediate and Senior grades, so there is a grade to suit YOU.


For the elite player (Performance / Core teams), those wishing to make their mark on prestigious and high-profile competitions such as Fitzgibbon, Sigerson, Aishling Murphy, Fr, Donaghy Cups then ATU GAA Club will provide you with that opportunity.


SO HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED AND SIGN UP?


To fully activate your membership, you must affiliate via ATUSULIFE GAA Club platform, purchase your gear (x3 pieces minimum – Shorts/Socks/Half Zip) this then covers your membership fee which covers your GAA Insurance for the year. This must be completed prior to training or competing for the college.


1. Register on ATUSULIFE AND then request GAA membership. Fill out the form. Make sure you opt in for club emails as this is how you will be contacted about trials/ training etc. If you have a medical condition, then you will need clearance from your GP before you can register.


2. Pay your registration fee as outlined above. • The registration of members is done online; we do not accept cash payments. Make sure you sign up to receive club emails. This is how you will be contacted about trials and trainings etc.

Teams train Once/twice a week on the pitches in the Liam Mellows GAA facility or on ATU pitch directly across from the college. More details will be made available on our social media accounts or by email once you have registered.
